Hi Everyone, I am recieving my new ducati multistrada granturismo in a couple of weeks. I am struggling to find a purpose made Sat Nav bracket for a TomTom rider v5 for the granturismo. Can anyone help? Thanks Smeetz
Use a RAM mount ball in on the handle bar bracket. Take one out and put in the Ram ball bolt then use a short extension onto the Rider 5 ram ball mount. I use the bottom left bolt and can then see the Satnav below the dash and all of the dash plus the satnav is pretty central so easy to glance at when needed. If you want to mount your TomTom above the instrument display, then you could you the Navihalter which clamps to the screen adjuster. It does make screen adjustment a bit more difficult but puts the GPS display at a good height, so good that I no longer use the audio prompts. I use a Garmin 660 but the Navihalter can be ordered for a TomTom. It's also available with a carbon fibre look. It's no cheap but is well made. You may have fun using the web site as it's in German however Google Chrome does a good job of translating the pages. View attachment 18564 SteveB
Is the Navihalter a permanent fixing on a 2013 bike or can it be removed easily when not in use? And how much of the Navihalter can be seen when its fitted if its a permanent fixing?
No its not a permanent fixing, it can be removed quite easily You cant see mine from the front as I've got a dark screen and it hides it quite well
Got a bracket for my lockable Touratech mount (Garmin Montana 600) from Holland a while ago.The brackets are pricey but very well made top quality brackets: BikePenR
You can also order mounts from ram-mounts.co.uk and use the parts section to spec your own custom mounts.
Made this in the shed, seems to work well, puts the sat nav in a similar position to the Navihalter and allows full access to screen adjustment.
Hey Diamaduk I like the look of your shed made mount. Have you any plans to make anymore? I'd be very interested in purchasing one. or if you have any drawings/tips or helpful advice on making one myself, I'd be very grateful. Thanks in advance Deaks
Because they are handmade and a bit time consuming to make I hadn't intended to produce them on mass. I did however make one for someone else on the forum recently, for this I ordered in a couple of ram ball mounts to make the postage worthwhile as a result I have a spare mount hanging around, if you want it its yours for £40 inc postage.
