I have 'manufactured' and fitted a sat nav mount to my ST4S from odds & ends I had lying about the house & garage and also fitted a 12v socket to provide power. I would also like to hear the audio instructions (obviously). I have used ear pieces in the past with a wire but it would be far more convenient to have a wireless earpiece together with a small transmitter that plugs into the earphone socket of the satnav. I have done a few searches but I have only come up with bluetooth solutions which don't fit the bill. Anyone solved this problem already?
You could use a small FM Transmitter like Wireless Car FM Radio Transmitter Charger FOR iPod MP3 Mobile Phone | eBay And then use a small personal FM radio to receive I personally use some wired Panasonic earbuds that act as earplugs as well (mine are black) http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001C3XZHY/?tag=ducatiforum-21
Yes I use them as well, got extra long wires so that I can move around on the bike and not worry about the jack falling out of the sat nav. They are very good and a cheaper solution. I would recommend them, my concern with wireless is that at certain speeds and conditions the signal, hearing would not be so good especially on the motorway.
Both schuberth and nolan have bluetooth, nolan unit fits in the helmet and schuberth has a collar that replaces the existing collar/skirt on the helmet.
Thanks for the replies, I may just use some in-ear earphones but I find them uncomfortable for long periods and I sometimes forget to disconnect them from the sat nav when I get off the bike!
Have you thught about wired helmet speakers motorcycle helmet speakers in Vehicle Parts & Accessories | eBay
Bought some helmet speakers as above. They are very slim and the sound quality is better than expected. I have yet to try them out on the bike because the weather has been sh1te for nearly 2 months now. Thanks for the advice.
