I've had the bike for 10 months and put 6500 miles on her, only changing the tyres to PR3s. But now it's time to start making it mine starting off with the soundtrack, so I've just ordered a new exhaust for the Mutley to unleash a proper Ducati sound. ANyone here have the SC project exhaust? It seems pretty good value for both the decat pipe and end can. Not as pretty as the Akra but they seem to be well put together. Also got the Evotech tail tidy and a smaller reg plate for when I go to shows. Next up, the belly pan and rear footpegs will be off to the powder coaters to match the matt black finish of most of the rest of the bike. Of course, I'll post the pics when it's all finished.
Currently thinking of going the same way (rather than a full system) so look forward to seeing the pics of the exhaust and getting your thoughts on quality etc. Mark H
The only asthetic issue I have is the tiny carbon heat protector on the top pipe. I'm used to the Akrapovic pipework being hiiden . Several people have posted about the SC Project and if I remember at least one forum member was waiting on delivery. I've still not made my mind up but I do have a Leo Vinci decat pipe waiting to fit if and when I do. Andy
Before anyone thinks of ordering anything from SC project, be aware that I ordered this exhaust on 13th March and still haven't received it. Last e-mail I had from them on 11th April said I would receive it in 2-3 days. Those crazy Italians, eh! Next e-mail to them will be saying how I shall be informing the UK Ducati community of my dealings with them.
I have a LV de-cat and fitted the Akra last week. Had to trim a little off the de cat 6mm to make it fit. Sounds a lot deeper and seems to have sorted the fuelling out, much smoother at lower revs. Just need to save and get it mapped (anyone know where in Scotland?) for piece of mind. I sooooooooo want the Akra but it is super expensive, where did you buy from and how much if you don't mind me asking???
Bike shop, expensive but aren't they all? It looks good but also soften the sound a little compared to standard pipes??
Is that sportsbikeshop? Yes they are all expensive but I believe Akrapovic the most expensive but it looks the best (imo)
Yeh that's the one. Took a week to arrive a doddle to fit and the quality looks good, time will tell if it stays that way?
