SC Project exhausts - Anyone got one yet?

  1. I've been keeping an eye on the Termi side of things, wanting to go for a full termi system, but the price is around £1,500... So anything cheaper but offering just as good quality will no doubt be worth it.

The SC Project stuff caught my eye previously. But Chris at CJS said to stay clear because it was hard to map and cheap...

    Any thoughts?

I would probably go for the one with the removable baffle for the longer journeys.

  2. 115 views and not a single opinion? :(

  3. I've got Sc cans on my monster. I've also got a cjs map. The cans are as good as termi if not better. My termi on my 848 are a good set but my set I had on my 696 were very poor with weld splatter all over. The sc are also quite cheap and arrived without problem

  4. might wanna check the US forum mate, I know a couple were looking at the CRT style one, whether theyve taken delivery or not is anybodies guess

  5. Think Im going to go for the Oval race can from SC Project, the link pipe looks very good as its a 'Y' section and the pipe lengths look as though they tried to make them equal.

I'll post up pics as and when i get it sorted.

  6. I've got the road legal version with baffle on my 2013. It's currently fitted without the additional air filter and afm module and the bike's running well. There is perhaps a little more hesitance between 1-2k rpm, but it's not problematic. It's deeper and louder than stock, I can hear it idling away with ear plugs in. Seems just as good and well made as the Arrow system I had before.

  7. got any pics you can email me?

  8. When I had mine I loved the full termi but must say the bst rims were really good if I had to pick just one I'd go for the rims

Here are the pictures of the exhaust on the bike, I had to clean it before taking the pictures but the can is matt. The carbon cover is held on by a jubilee clip and the d-cat comes in 3 parts, the Y piece pictured here and two joining pipes to the headers. A number of springs then hold together the Y-piece to the can and joining pipes. I believe that the race can is slightly shorter.

  10. I'm liking that.

i take it you don't need the passenger pegs installed for the exhaust as it looks like its secured further over?

  11. Correct, it uses the previous exhaust mount off the frame with a joining dog bone. As SC don't provide a work around for the exhaust valve I used the Mivv method by fitting two springs between the end of the wire and the mount it runs through. Cheap and effective as the springs provide enough resistance to fool the ECU.

  12. Looks good. Does it work OK with the panniers fitted?

  13. I haven't tried, I rarely ride with full panniers. I can't see why it wouldn't it's smaller than a full termi.

  14. Is that a standard seat? Want to get mine done and it's pretty much the kinda thing I'm after

  15. That's the stock seat on the GT.

  16. Cheers

That's two things I need to buy this next few days then :)

  17. Messes, i am trying to copy your SC Project setup on my 2012 MTS1200s and wondering what the MIVV method you mentioned above? Any additional info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  18. Hi,

I got some springs from Halfords and slipped them on the wire so that they would provide resistance when the bike tries to activate the value. I had to use a couple to get the right amount of tension but I've been running this for a couple of years now. I've drawn a picture of where you place the spring. Untitled.png
