Are these any good still? This a good deal? https://www.fwr.co.uk/product/pirelli-diablo-supercorsa-sc
Yes, very good sticky tyre perfect for trackdays and fast road riding (if they are road based rubber). As good as low end slick IME
They're a perfectly good trackday tyre for 99% of trackDay'ers. You wouldn't want to try and race on them at a decent level as they don't have the ultimate grip of the V2, but still perfectly good. Not for the road though on anything but a summers day
Would you say there is a minimum air temperature for SC's? I mean outside air temperature? Like "don't ride them round Donny in March if it's only 10 degrees" type thing?
The sc2 compound works ok in cooler temperatures, but you just need to be mindful that you’ll lose heat quicker off the warmers if you’ve got a 5deg track temp Keep the warmers on for ages to get some heat into the rim and that’ll reduce the effect of the track temp dropping tyre temp
Those are road tyres that can do a bit of track work, whereas the Supercorsa SC compound tyres are track tyres, that, at a push, could be used on the road. Personally, I'd never use a road tyre on the track as they just don't have the grip, but if you're not pushing on or don't have warmers, you'd want a sporty road tyre like the ones you've mentioned, all day long If for no other reason, that they're not sensitive to heat cycles like an SC grade tyre is and warm up quicker without warmers (and work when they're cold)
Yeah, Bob's a top guy. He's away on Holiday for 10 days though, but you can still phone the office and they'll help you out. They're good for advice too
