made the school boy error of removing the screen yesterday to give the bit i couldn't reach the bit behind the clocks to clean 3 hours later and whole front end of the bike dismantled and put back into place I was cursing myself probably would have been ok if I could have recovered both of the little rubber well nuts but could only retrieve one even once I removed the top fairing took me a while to find the 2nd I wont be doing that again any time soon!! someone at ducati needs a slap for that little gem of design
i was toying with that idea yesterday also glad i did not now as would not of been impressed if i had to do that
I glued the well nuts to the screen in the hope they will stay put if I attempt again but dont have much hope of them staying put
Thanks for the warning. Even with cotton-buds on the end of my needle-nosed pliers I couldn't get the bottom of the screen clean so I now need to think of an alternative too!
someone suggested a lollypop stick to me but I am thinking something long and flat like a ruler with some kind of cleaning implement on the end of it once I crack it ill take it on dragons den
Thank god I haven't taken the screen off, was toying with the idea. Have been thinking for a couple of weeks now how to clean the dust down there but haven't come up with anything yet. May wrap a ruler with a paper towel, just one layer, and try this way... hmmm.
St3 needed it's mot today. Checked the front lights and no joy. Screen and clocks out , cut fingers arguments with the wife and almost 2 hours later I'm ready for the mot....she passed.i hope that bulb lasts another 8 years!
