  1. Hi everyone.

Just thought I'd stick a post in here to say "hi!".

I'm looking at embarking on Ducati ownership in the next few months and think I'm about to order an 848 Evo. I've had four cylinders for the last 12 years and have owned my current bike (2007 GSXR 750) for 5+ years since buying it new. Absolutely loved owning the 750 but fancy a change now and the 848 was always on my dream list. Fortunately I think if I wait until the New Year, I can make the numbers work.

I took the Ducati Glasgow demo bike out on Saturday there and was totally blown away by it. What an awesome bike! I'm in the process of trying to get the figures sorted with the dealer and then I'm likely to place a deposit for collecting in March if I can agree the price. Seems crazy but I should have time to sell my 750 before then and have the balance saved and set aside ready to go.

The site looks really useful after having a look around over the past couple of days. Would be delighted if any 848 Evo owners could share their knowledge and experience with me before I take the plunge.

    Cheers. :)

  2. Welcome Andy. The 848 evo is everything you think and more.

  3. Hi M8,

Just sell your Gran and go do it.....You won't regret it.

  4. Welcome. I have had very good dealngs with Ducati Glasgow seem to be ood guys

  5. Thanks folks.

I've really enjoyed my visits to the shop in Glasgow and like the place and the staff a lot. I'm really hoping that they'll offer me a good deal on the 848 but I have a very strong feeling that there's no deals to be had at all. Expecting a call tomorrow to see what they can do for me. I'm looking for the Termi end cans, hugger, fender, seat cowl etc. too so hopefully I can squeeze a bit of a discount out of them for buying it all in one go.

    Will see what happens! :)

  7. I've had some DP parts from them n they're always helpful in the parts department, with quick delivery too.

I still don't see the add in the classified section for the Gran tho......

How could you sell your granny 

  9. We will see what the phone call brings tomorrow I guess...

Excited by this all but trying not to get all swept away before getting a figure agreed. Think my 750 will be up for sale very shortly though to try and get it sold before the autumn / winter.

  10. Hello and welcome. You should get a good deal on the 848 with the rumoured/expected arrival of the 849. Personally I think the 848/1098/1198 family are the best looking. Welcome. Oh and I bought a tank pad from Ducati Glasgow. Small world :biggrin:

  11. I was speaking to them about the plans for a new "baby Panigale". Apparently there is no news at all on this from Ducati and the current 848 Evo is in the build plan for 2013. I originally went in asking that question a few weeks ago but by the sound of it it'll be the end of next year at the earliest. I'll have a scan around here to see what people are saying about it.

  12. welcome to the forum
