2 years ago I fitted a new Scottoiler E System to my 2010 Mutley. Fitted ok and all seemed to be working ok with 2 trips etc to Corsica, Picos etc. I then went to NEC show last Nov and the very nice man on the Scottoiler stand said I could swap out the display unit for their brand new version that had improved firmware onboard. I went home and did this; disconnected the existing display unit, sent it back to the nice people in Scotland who then sent me the new model. I've now fitted the brand new display unit and wired it into the bikes battery etc in identical fashion as with the older model. I then set time, oil level etc. However, when I start the bike, the unit switches on then instantly switches off and comes back on again with all data reset to 0! Anyone else had this problem? The bike is always connected into an Optimate and bike battery voltage is showing as 14.7V.
Could be a dodgy software load, or possibly a fault with the new unit...drop in power during the start triggering a reset maybe? Mine is connected straight to the battery. Out of interest, what benefit does the new software bring? I'm still running the original from first release.
Apparently more reliable - my old unit used to randomly switch on when parked in garage - and addition of clock and some other minor mods. I've tried wiring it directly onto the battery and the unit still resets! Scottoiler recently sent me a new unit and this still demonstrates the same problem!
Scottoilers...Christ; how old are you guys? These aren't T160 Triumphs. The world has moved on somewhat.
It's called "Got used to shaft drive on long daily commute - can't be arsed with faffing around lubing the chain every other day"
Mine gots the E oiler fiited' (put on it by first owner). When set at 60d/ps and riding for an hour or so should I see the little red led light on the head unit light up at least once!! Res empties fine and when i 'prime' the system oil creeps omto the chain. Just before I picked the bike up from Aylesbury Ducati they had to put a new head unit on it!
