New (to me) Monster 796 arrived yesterday as a Christmas present to myself, been prepping today ready for the sunshine tomorrow (hopefully). My first Ducati and my first bike... already thinking about some bar-end mirrors and a tail tidy.
So I managed to get out today but not without incident following a loose fuel pipe under the tank pissing fuel out when I first tried to start her up - good job my wife noticed before I headed out. Still a great way to get to know your bike having to remove the petrol tank on day one - did take the opportunity to fit a battery tails for my CTEK so not a complete waste of time. Still with a low battery and almost no fuel I managed to limp to the nearest garage, stick in a few quid and ride in the sun for about 40mins. Most notable part of the ride was the seemingly very tall gears; not sure why I'll need 6, 3 seemed sufficient for everything up to 60.
