Hi. I picked up a 15 multi yesterday and took the seat off and when I re fit it, the lines don't look right. There is a gap below the seat and the black filler strip which doesn't look right. It's probably a simple things but I'd expect a closer gap but don't know if this is how it is
The black plastic strip is screwed to the underside of the seat to put it in the high position, it, along with another piece is removed to lower. This seat fit to the bodywork is normal. It's a bit of a gap for sure but just how it is.
I commented to Blair at Ducati Glasgow about the apparent bad seat fit I'd seen on DVTs - and I think (sorry, poor memory here) he said that it is actually possible to fit one or more of the plastic bits either the wrong way around or at the wrong end. Don't have a DVT so can't hop out and check but you might want to double check things there.
I have my seat on low. I tried the high seat setting with the spacers, and I was surprised at the poor seat fit, there are huge gaps. So its probably fitted right. It fits better on the lower height.
Thanks for the responses. Looks like a poor fit on heigh setting. All the bits under the seat look lime in the manual. Probably won't notice it in a weeks time
I did manage to fit the front seat riser upside down once and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out why the seat wouldn't fit....Doh! On the subject of the gap; Yes sir, they all look like that I'm afraid! Although I found the gap around the front nose of the seat when on the lower set up even more annoying. Why don't Ducati just offer different seat units, so at least one would fit correctly...My mate forever takes the piss about this. Bloody BMW owners
It's not great. I have an MV where everything is about detail so no gaps. Even my Kawasaki has tight seat gaps and panel lines. Once i start to get some miles done, I will soon forget it
