Sensible price for an ST3s?

  1. I'm considering selling my ST3s but I don't really know what would be a fair asking price. Having just discovered the existence of this place I'm hoping that you'll have a better idea of what she is worth.
She's an 06 plate with about 15,000 on the clock. Ducati Red and in pretty good condition.

    06 Plate
    Approx 15,000 miles

ST3s ie marchesini wheels, ABS, Adjustable suspension.
    A couple of small extras:
    Dark tint double bubble screen
Scottoiler (fitted by previous owner, not used by me as I prefer PTFE chain lube)
Ventura Bike Rack (fitted by previous owner, without the bag)
    Meta M357T alarm

    MOT until about July
Service due in the next couple of months, but the belts, hoses etc were done last year.

Well Maintained, service history from Pro Twins Ducati and more recently Louigi Moto

Niggles: Chain is a bit tatty, tiny scuffs on tips of wing mirrors and one about an inch long on lower fairing from when it fell over on my drive.
A couple of marks on exhaust from where my bike cover melted from the heat, I can probably get those off with some oven cleaner but not tried it yet.

I've seen that a chap was advertising his on MCN, bike of the day no less, for £5.5k.
Mine doesn't have all the shiny extras that his had but is in good shape and has been well looked after (apart from that little incident on the drive).
I always give her a good spray of anti corrision after each wash, and never ride on salty roads.

I don't have any recent pictures but here is one from last year:

Any thoughts on what I should advertise her for? (It's going to suck to sell her, but I don't get the chance to stretch her legs very often.)
    Thanks for your time.

  2. Don't know if it will help but I bought my 06 ST3 last year for just under £4k. Ok it's not the s model, and its the slower silver colour, has done 20k miles. It came with the panniers, 12 months mot, a new rear tyre and chain and sprockets and warranty. My guess would be somewhere in the £4 to £4.5k mark. Just a shame that this wasn't for sale last year as I'd have been on my way to your door for a good look! Chris

  3. I sold my ST3S a few years ago with panniers for £4600.00 it was in good condition just under 12000k. fsh. An 05 model. i owned the bike for a year and didnt lose any money.

I think 5.5k is a bit much, dealer price. Some people are asking 6k far to much in my opinion. Remember its due for a service, if its got service history i would go for £4600.00 These bike are quiet rare and it has more bhp then the older ST3. And its the S model, which makes loads of difference when selling. Try 5k if you dont sell it, drop the price. I wish i didnt sell mine to be honest. Great bike. Has it all.

  5. Thanks for the suggestions, those are not too far from what I was thinking.
I will have a painful decision to make this weekend. Slightly tempered by also having to decide what my next bike will be :)
