Got chatting with an MTS guy in Whitby yesterday and noticed his shiny exhaust, I was very impressed, almost a mirror finish, reckons it took him just several hours with wet & dry... Photo attached.
I always take a bit of time keep that satin-black finish not look streaky and rubbish when I clean my bike. Generally a wipe with an AC-50 soaked rag is a good as one can get but I recon this is probably easier to keep clean and a definite improvement. The heat shield is easy enough to remove - soak it in Nitromors and leave it overnight, wipe the paint off, go at it with a polishing wheel, just done. Nice idea.
A fair point as I've not studied it in detail. I've not given it the scratch test to find out. The satin finish doesn't look like anodising at a glance and so I assumed it was painted - but you know what they say about the word "assume".
