1200 Service Indicator Reset For 1200s - 2013-14 Models

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Stavrich, Mar 5, 2016.

  1. Does anyone knows how to reset the service message on 2013 / 2014 Multistrada. I have the Lonelec 4 Pin to OBD2 adaptor. I tried to used it with Memoscan OBD2 scanner reader ( its CAN compatible ) but it couldn't link to the bike (It links and resets faults error on my Triumph Sprint ST)

It seems that there is a way for the pre 2012 models but not for the 2013/14

If you know how or what equipment is required please let me know.

These replies ... "take it to dealer" or "buy the Ducati diagnostic tool" are not acceptable :grinning:

    Cheers

  2. @Derek : Thanks - that could be the solution. I am trying to get access to the Multitool Google Group site to download the app - is not available on the Play store.

  3. Yes, you will need to apply via Google groups or email Wit on [email protected]
If you don't have the cable adaptor you can buy one from Lonelec

  4. @Derek : Done that.

I have the Lonelec adaptor and ordered the BT ELM327.

But .. just clicked on "Get the PDF version" and I got this .... now I am not sure whether mine is covered or not.

    "MultiToolLite 1.6 for Android
    Please note :
RESETS do not work for 2013+ year models
No support for 2015+ year models

    "

  5. Hmm. Neither am I. My bike is a 2010 so I have no problem. @chrisw might know.

  6. It's not one I use but my understanding was Multistradas up to 2013 only.

  7. @Derek , @chrisw
Well... I have the cable adaptor and received the ELM327 today and I will give it a try but unfortunately I had no reply from Google groups or [email protected] which worries me a bit - I just hope the group is still active and I can get the app

  8. Hmm. I have had no messages from the group since the end of last year, so I don't know. I can probably copy the app and send it if that helps.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  9. @Derek - lets give it a couple of more days and if no joy I will ask you to send me the app.. and thank you very much.

  10. I emailed Wit middle of last year still no reply.
Could you extend the offer of sending the program to me also please?
    Thanks

  11. @Derek - I have sent another email and had no reply yet. It seems the group is no longer active.
If you can let me have copy of the app I will appreciate it.
I cannot work it out how to send a PM with my details so.... Please email it

  12. I've emailed the app to you.
You may want to edit your post and remove the email address. I never think it's a good idea to have your email on a public forum.
To send a PM. Click on the name of the poster under their avatar. In the box that opens click on "Start a conversation". I agree it's not obvious.

  13. I agree - removed
    Thanks

  14. Top man Derek, thanks.

  15. The tuneboy software can do it. But it seems overkill for just the service indicator.

  16. I'd forgotten about Tuneboy. Rexxer can too but the same applies.

  17. Just for completion of this thread :- The final solution .... for me :grinning:

I am now using MelcoDiag. It works great with my 2013 Multi and I have reset my Desmo 15000 mile service message and soon will be doing the Oil Service reset ,7.5K mile one. The author of the app is a great guy - initially the diag wouldnt work on the 2013 models (was Ok with previous years) but between us he got it sorted out.

See my post at the Jpdiag forum JPDiag :: Multistrada 1200s - 2013 - Melcodiag - resets . Its a French site but thanks to Google translator there no issues.. :grinning:

You can download the app from jpdiag

I use the Lonelec cable and ELM v1.4 USB ( I had problems with the other versions ).
