Taking it in for its 3rd service today, hoping it doesn't cost a fortune? did I read right about valve clearances? the bikes only done 3000 (2013)
hmmm had first service on my panigale 1299 this week and also on my BMW S1000xr.. both at around 700miles BMW : £85 Ducati : £245 going to read up and see what the difference was in terms of the work thats done
I did the Ducati first..so didn't know what to expect If I'd have done it the other way rounds I'd have had a bit of a dive into all the costs
ducati pisstake mate , oil n filter prob cost dealer £30 tops , had my bmw s1000rr first service FOC, nice dealer , not all take the piss.
I have my first service with my 899 due in May-June, I am expecting it to be expensive as people always say they are pricey I'm dreading it but I guess we did choose to ride a ducati
My Scrambler Classic is booked in next week for 600 mile first service at Hyside, Romford told it's £180 piss take but I need to keep the warranty up!
Your all being ripped off by the sounds of it! My dealer has a "menu" on the wall and you can see how much a service is going to cost you. First service on my 899 was £120 7,500 mile service was £170 Both I though were quite reasonable compared to the service costs of the KTM I was running before the Ducati and they were due every 4,500 miles Pete Keys - its sounds to me like they have charged you for an annual service there, and not a first "run-in" 700 mile service, I would go back and bang the table with them, if they won't refund money, get an agreement for £100 off your next service, good luck
Anyone know if UK spec 899 will throw up any issues if serviced in France at a Ducati dealer? As they only have restricted 899's at the moment. Wondering if their diagnostic machine might do a Galic shrug and say non! When the bike is plugged in.
Just had my 1299 serviced and can confirm I was charged £250. I called 3 stores metropolis, hyside and Ducati Croydon and was quoted the same price from all 3 stores. I think it highly depends on your location and whether you haggled in a first service deal when you bought the bike.
By 3rd service do you mean the second annual one (so 1st is 600mile and 2nd after 1 year) or is it 36 month service? as this will make a big difference to the hours spent
First service is a con labour wise.... i work for a car main dealer and first service is half hour labour.... to say it takes 2.5 hours is utter b*******t
