Servicing Dorset - Who Do You Recommend?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by tim jones, Jan 16, 2023.

  1. I'd love to hear from other Dorset (S Wilts, S Somerset and W Hants) dwellers as to who you entrust your pride and joy to?

I always used and well-liked Alton for my Multi Enduro but my commute used to take me past their door. Now I don't go that way, who is best to care for my 2001 Monster S4R?

  2. I think the Bournemouth Dealership chaps are on here - could they be of help?

  3. You have Louigi Motors in Bristol. I'd be taking it there personally.

  5. Bournemouth Ducati will be opening fairly soon in Ferndown and will be THE place to go to for the area. @John - Ducati Bournemouth

  6. Paul (ex Snells), https://pgperformance.co.uk/ gets good feedback. Your challenge is finding someone familiar with the older bikes. I have used Moto Rapido in Winchester for many years but that might be out of your way. Andy

  7. I'm in Bournemouth, will probably give the Boys in Ferndown a shout once they're up and running, but I've always used Moto Rapido, my MOTs and servicing generally coincide with shite weather so I often get them to pick it up and deliver it back, never had a problem with the guys there and have bought and part ex'd there too.

  8. If your within 100 miles of Louigi Moto then there is no real logical choice, I used to take my bikes there from Berkshire.

  9. Another vote for Moto Rapido here. Andy and the team are superb. Not my closest dealer but the one I trust with all my servicing needs.

  10. I can vouch for Paul at PG, he did the full monty on my 916 when at Snells. I also vouch for Snells and MotoRapido. Snell service all my bikes, despite being 50miles from me and having another dealer 2mins away. Snells have always been No1 for me personally.

  11. I've used Snells for the past three years and found them very good. Also used Paul of PG Performance (only 10 minutes from me). Always found him very helpful and a lot cheaper than Snells .... depends how much you value an official dealer stamp in the service book.

  12. Thank you, I used Snells with my previous bike, but this one is 20 years old so perhaps time to try PG.

  13. I have thrown some challenges at Paul @PGP from laid up ex-racers needing a thorough recommission to his present task refreshing my 1199 R stuffed with Superledge bits. Nothing seems to phase him and he even provides phone support when I am struggling at the track. He collects/delivers as well.

  14. Sounds as if we don’t live too far away from each other.
Like others, MotoRapido for me, never had the reason to go elsewhere as they’re always great.

  15. I used Moto Rapido for servicing my MS 1200 when I had it, great for parts too.
The scramblers due an annual service and mot soon so will probably give Ducati Bournemouth a go if and when they open and as long as it’s not silly money?
I’d rather ride 5 miles than 50 in February :joy:
