My son is buying a 2022 V2, to be delivered next week; it'll be a significant change from his KTM 390! With heated grips and EvoTech rad and oil cooler guards already fitted and a tracker to be fitted by the (Ducati) dealer, are there any other recommended mods for this model? It already has an SAE lead down by the gear lever for battery maintenance; is there anything near the headstock for a USB connection to keep phone charged? Switched preferably... I understand that the Sachs shock has its limitations, but he won't be changing anything major just yet - not with insurance coming in at ~£1100, despite 8 years no claims. Exorbitant insurance and the double mod1/mod2 license requirements are a massive turn off for youngsters - it makes you wonder about the future of motorcycling. Anyhow, we look forward to having some fun together come springtime and hopefully, for the next few years - until they ban petrol. By the way, does anyone have a link to a workshop manual pdf please? Cheers, Alien
If the dealer fits a Bike Track, you will need a good quality battery maintainer as the tracker has a reputation for leeching the battery in a relatively short space if time if the bike is not ridden regularly. As far as I know, there is not a USB socket but there might be a switched live somewhere for a Sat Nav. Andy
Some mods I've done I'd recommend: EP tail tidy + removed rear pegs I also got the EP rad guard Rear cowl to convert to single seat - it didn't come with the ducati stickers, i had to order and stick them on myself, that was stressful! EP handlebar weights to dampen vibrations and stop my thumb going numb Removed the reflector on front brake - you'll need a spacer for a few £s from the dealer, I think EP sell them now too I've also started to add some carbon bits like the rear hugger, heel guards. I got the silver panels either side of the radiator wrapped in carbon effect which looks good, a guy on the forum can do it. If you haven't got one, you'll need a paddock stand to fit single sided swing arm.
I scoured ebay/facebook/this forum for a few weeks and managed to get a genuine ducati paddock stand for a decent price. Alternatively R&G sell them, my friend has one for his SF V4 - it will list the correct one if you select the bike on their website (LHS, 40mm pin if I remember correctly).
