SF848 vs monster 1100s

  1. I keep fancying a streetfighter 848 in yellow. This would be to replace my 2010 1100s monster. I use the bike for hooning, pillion, going places, TT each year, etc. The 848 I have is purely a sunny day hooning machine.

Im concerned that the SF848 would be too similar to my normal 848. The monster offers air cooled loveliness but sometimes I wish I had another 30bhp.

At this stage I'm just thinking out loud. Maybe my girlfriend would have other ideas about being on the back of a SF.

  2. Ok - here's my opinion as I was in exactly the same position as you three months ago; wanted to replace my 2010 Monster 1100 with an 848 Streetfighter. Have you ridden the 848SF yet? I took a test ride at my Dealer and was a little underwhelmed by the engine compared to the Monster. I really liked the riding position (more comfortable than the Monster for me) and the handling was a little sharper... But it didn't have the performance bang that I was after. In the end I bought a 1098 Streetfighter.

That's certainly not to say the 848SF isn't a fast machine, it clearly is and is much more usable on the public roads... Just wasn't 'big' enough for me.

Wouldn't fancy taking a pillion on the back of one either way :D

  3. Pillion ability is about the same as your 848 Damon. Possibly worse because there's no screen...... Cracking bike but i wouldn't see a place in the same garage as the 848.

  4. Thanks for comments guys. No I haven't ridden one, but I think you both confirmed my fears. Sounds like I have the best combo at the moment.
