Fitted slipper clutch yesterday, though I'd clean the gauze filter whilst at it... No real need, but a 5 min job me thinks... First thing, it has a non-reusable crush gasket fitted ( not mentioned in all the manuals ) so it must be a new / old thing?? Put it back together with instant gasket and one of the bolts sheared off. I was using torque wrench, the other 3 clicked fine, but this one just snapped... I now have the front of the bike hanging off the garage rafters, and will soon try to extract the broken bolt. Not ideal as there is naff all room to work under it... One part of me want to pull the whole engine out to out on its side for easier work, the other part says it will be fine with 3 bolts... Dare not take the risk, so middle ground seems to be to try to extract it in place... Any top tips most welcome... Cheers, Bob
Update... Removed broken bolt with purpose tool. 5 min job... Drill through bolt then tool uses a left hand thread to grip and remove broken bolt. I heard stories of them shearing off also, and nightmare to follow, but my mate did the job for me as he was going to heli-coil it if it all went bendy... Tools are available from eThief, and one will be going in my tool box very soon... Kids heard some new vocabulary when it broke... Lucky her-indoors was not around to witness it...
