Shiny shiny!

  1. Whilst the 1098R is in the process of being stripped, cleaned, lubricated and given much love (Sounds nothing like my last relationship), i decided to get the suspension rocker and rear caliper bracket polished up.

I found a local place, who also chrome-plated the sidestand assembly for me, all for the cheapo sum of £45.

Not a bad job for the money. They ground-down the casting marks and de-anodised them both. Just a few small areas they missed, which i'll take care of with the Dremmel and Autosol.

This is all because i can't afford the shiny Motocorse billet rocker which is about £1300-ish!

  2. Oooh, shiny things.

  3. Seems a shame to fit them, put them on display.

I have seen good results with the chrome look powder coating, had a lot of chroming done on my KH 250 triple project and its not cheap.

  4. Installed them today.

You can't really see the caliper hanger bracket, but the suspension rocker really does make the whole suspension arrangement look different. I'll take a pic in the week.

Was going to get them both chromed, but was worried with the very tight tolerances on those parts the extra thickness of a triple-chrome process would make life difficult upon assembly.

  5. Yowser  looks great.

    Have you fitted ?

    We need pics man, pics....

  6. Photos of it installed as requested.

You can't really see the caliper hanger, so i never bothered taking a pic.
