tommy247New Member Hi. I’ve had a Multistrada Enduro for a few months now and looking at a new helmet. Currently using a Shoei XR 1100 from my old bike and find it very wind noisy. Looking at the Shoei Neotec 2 or Gt Air 2. Can’t decide. Any opinions!!? Cheers
I use a GT Air and the only place I get wind noise is around the neck. Easily cured with a snood or scarf.
I have the Neotec 2 and find it very comfortable. As to noise, I wear ear plugs at all times but think it is slightly louder than my X Spirit III although not too loud to hear the integrated Sena SRL at reasonable speeds. I used to poo poo the modular helmet although never having tried one but the Shoei converted me and I am now a big fan. Andy
I also have a Neotec 2 with the integrated SRL. I find it extremely quiet compared to my Arai Chaser, RPHA 10+, or AGV. Also use earplugs. the flip design comes into its own when you stop for fuel, cash or whatever, its just so convenient. Its also a godsend in hot weather or city riding, or when you simply want a slower ride and take in a bit of scenery. The fit is perfect for me as well, good ventilation, nice colourway, and easier to get on and off with the quick release strap, none of that struggling with double rings !!. not really much to dislike if I'm honest. GT Air old style very comfy lid more so than a Neotec 1 I owned at the same time. GT Air II isn’t reportedly anywhere near as quiet as the original , not read anything significant regarding neotec 2. Have a look at the Touratech ADV mod it’s a flip front lid based on Schuberth C3 pro/E1 lids only with better (subjective) styling and a plusher interior. Just got one in a TT sale for 350 knicker bargain! and very nice it is too. The peak is removable so can be used in normal lid style. They run a snug fit so if your large jawed (width wise) they may feel a little too snug.
