Short Boots

Discussion in 'Clothing, Gadgets & Equipment' started by GrumpyGolfer, Jun 22, 2023.

  1. My short boots have suffered a terminal stitching failure. Any recommendations (good or worth avoiding) for a pair of short boots for the commute and wearing round the office please?

    TIA

  2. I had and liked RST

  3. I’ve got the Alpinestars and they are brilliant both on and off the bike.

  4. Held sirmione currently. Previously had TCX dart wood goretex which looked great and were comfy but these held boots feel much much more secure and robust. They feel very stiff and solid but are breaking in nicely and are becoming more comfortable. Don’t look as good as the dart woods but night and day in terms of how secure and protective they feel. My tcx boots split on both boots so sent them back and got the helds as a replacement.

  6. Hi buddy
I’ve recently purchased a pair of Klim Outlander GTX boots from Motolegends.
I struggle to find comfortable bike footwear due to arthritis in my big toes (years of floor laying)
The Klim so far (3 months & 1500 miles) have been excellent and comfortable to walk about in.

  7. Love my Daytona Arrow Sport GTX. Wear them for my daily commute and most everything else out on the bike.
Have worn them all day in the office on occasion.

  8. I’ve got a pair of these hardly used. Alpinestars. You’ll look cool as fuck doing the moonwalk with these on in the office. Size 9 btw ;)

  11. Take a look at Motolegends website, they have a huge choice of styles and price points. Some look like traditional leather boots some more like trainers.

I’ve also just bought a pair of the Klim Outlander’s which I used for recent European trip. Very comfortable, waterproof but might be a bit too ‘adventure’ for the office (not cheap either!)

  13. I had a pair of Dartwoods as well. They started to separate between upper and sole, sent them back to Motolegends who refunded straight away. I'd had then over a year but advanced ordered them ahead of release/availability during lockdown. Only really used them on one tour and a couple of other rides.

Still have and wear another pair of TCX short boots, albeit not waterproof, that I purchased a few years ago, long before getting the Dartwoods. .

  14. Motolegends seem to have dropped them from their range now so maybe an ongoing problem.
The helds I have now are in a different league protection wise but don’t look as good.
