Apparently ASV have no levers (shorty or standard) that are suitable for the 1299 (I have verified this with Calsport, who checked with the UK importer). Does anyone know what the issue is that means that the levers for the 1199 are not suitable? This is a ball-ache because I already have a brake lever that will apparently fit an 1199 but not a 1299... What other shorty levers work well on the 1299?
899/1199/1299 levers are all the same as far as I know. You can find ASV shorty levers advertised on ebay that fit the 1299. Albeit from the US but shows that they must just be the same part... Thanks for that. Not being familiar with the 1199, I was wondering if there were differences in the switch gear near the levers. Does the 1199 have the Up/Down paddles on the LH bar? I have enquired to ASV in the States to try and find out why they don't mark them as compatible with the the 1299. I have tried fitting the C5 brake lever that I had from my old RSV4. This is marked as suitable for the 1199. It fits ok, but if you had very small hands and reduced the span accordingly then the clearance between the underside of the lever and the throttle housing could be quite tight with the lever squeezed.
Yep, the 1199 has up/down buttons on the lefthand switch gear. The switchgear/levers/brakes are all unchanged from the 1199 to the 1299.
I think the OP was referring to the wheelie control paddles which sit next to the LH switchgear of the 1299 and which are only fitted to the 1299 and Superleggera models and NOT the 1199.
