On Sky Docs at 2pm (and imagine it will be repeated over the next few weeks). Details: Sky Italia release SIC a portrait of late MotoGP racer ... | Visordown
Its superb and thankfully very little to do with his death and more his life and the 2008 championship v Alvaro. Been sat here crying my eyes out for the last 5 minutes lol. Didnt realise SIC stood for no fucks given in Italian, always thought it was just part of his name. Didnt realise the irony of Sepang International Circuit either. So glad i got to see him race at Donny.
Just remembered Valentino being interviewed talking about the hate “in the guts” Italian riders have for Spanish riders and vice versa. Said something along the lines of “Italians hate Spanish riders because they are favoured and Spanish hate Italians because they believe they aren’t”. Left a bit of a sour taste tbh and Alvaro didn’t disagree either. All a bit football fans who weren’t good enough to be footballers imo. Makes you realise though how hard it is to get to the top if you don’t have either passport barring a Japaneseone perhaps.
Good documentary, I was glad they didn’t dwell on the MotoGP controversy and his death. My only criticism would be the filmed sections with body doubles from behind in wigs, I thought they were a bit unnecessary.
