Hi, I'm new to this forum! I have a Desert X with the dealer-installed subframe for panniers as shown. Does anyone know if the subframe is manufactured by Givi for Ducati? I want to mount Givi GRT709 soft bags but the subframe on the right side is not 'flat' (because of the exhaust) and also has a heatshield. Does anyone know how I can mount these bags? Hi Genek I’m afraid I can’t help with your question. I have an ancient set of Touratech hard cases that I’ve used for years on my Africa Twin, so I’m waiting for them to do a rack for the DesertX. In the meantime I am looking for some simple bars that will mount on the rear subframe to keep soft panniers clear of the exhaust and rear wheel. Ducati make some but unfortunately you have to pay for their soft bags as well, as it’s part of the same kit, and I want to stick with the Enduristan bags that I already have. It seems that like you, most DesertX buyers have come from other ADV brands and they tend to frequent the DesertX Facebook pages and the ADV forums rather than this one. I think you’d be better off looking for info there. That’s what I’m doing.
