I'd been having some issues with my Sigma locking the wheel and not slipping. I thought I would open it up and check it out, see the attached pics. It looks like some bearings have fought their way loose and ricocheted around inside before escaping. (I run a standard clutch cover with a small spacing to allow dust etc to escape - luigi motors set it up that way) Is this just a general wear and tear failure do you think? Can I buy replacements? There appears to be a frame that holds the bearings in that has failed...
Looks unique to Sigma to me, call a dealer they should know the score and have spares, Contact HPS Speedycom Performance Ltd...
Contact Sigma, they are still trading and would be able to sell you a bearing. I use a Sigma slipper clutch and I have never had a problem myself, in your case it looks like the bearing has dried out and overheated possibly and caused the bearing to break up. Contact Us @ Sigma Performance
The bearing is the same 6201-2RS type used in all pressure plates. Worth a few £. Check your clutch pushrod O rings too, they must be in terrible condition since the pushrod has probably spun a LOT with that kind of bearing failure (unless you have the newer type rod). Edit: Corrected the bearing model.
Great spot @jusutus didn't see that it was a bearing. I found a 6201RS sealed bearing type to replace it. £5 delivered. @Tobytyke looks like HPS don't resell any spares - their advice go straight to Sigma. @Red998 top tip - I originally bought direct from Neil and went straight to him when I found the fault. Hopefully the above bearing will do the job anyway - thanks all!!
