I did the silent clutch mod a few weeks back and it made one hell of a difference whilst idling in neutral, no more metallic clink which can get quite annoying. Having said that, I'm running an Oberon slave cylinder and Ducabike pressure plate so I end up having to run the clutch lever on a slightly higher span than I'd like to get full disengagement, even though with a mix of 1.5mm and 2mm aluminium plates I'm running the recommended 38mm stack height. I do however feel that the clutch doesn't quite feel as fast/slick but its probably down to the increased lever span. Any thoughts on this infamous mod?
I measured and if I recall correctly its somewhere between 7 and 8mm, the supposed required range for the distance from the outside of the basket to the first plate to be 3.5mm. In other words, half of the datum face height.
