1260 Skid Plate Rubs Hose

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by suruppak, Apr 5, 2019.

  1. I was cleaning my 1260S and removed the skid plate. When I did, I noticed that the upturned edge of the plate was rubbing pretty harshly on a hose, and has cut through the rubber to the metal screen underneath.

My current plan is to get the grinder and cut the skid plate back, and probably get the hose replaced. I just wanted to post it here so others can watch out for this.

  2. Seen the same on my 1200 I just split some plastic vent hose length ways and covered the sharp edge
Mine are the oil cooler hoses so the rubber cover is just that a cover over the braided line Id not cha he it personally ( and indeed haven’t)

  3. Thanks Funners, I didn't know what the hoses were for as I hadn't traced them back yet. I might take that approach to fixing mine too, but since I have it off a little grinding won't take long either.
