Didn’t see that coming tbh. Good move or bad?! Not convinced, Lowes hasn’t done anything special, Dixon starting to but taken quite a while…how will Skinner get in with those stuff, difficult frames?! All good luck to him: be great to see another brit pushing for podiums on world stage! https://www.britishsuperbike.com/ne...t-for-the-world-stage-in-2023-with-moto2-move
Applaud his aspirations and hope he has an easier introduction than Jake did. John Hopkins is a hard task master and I’m a little surprised American Racing isn’t looking for a US rider to step up. Definitely a loss to the BSB paddock. Andy
It’s been on the cards for a few months to be fair. Hopkins was bigging him up before Silverstone and Austria.
He will do well, he's got really solid management behind him and he's been groomed for it, one more year in Superbike and he would just be labelled a superbike rider, I think it's that brutal these days. Moto2 though, will only probably support 2 brits at a time, longer term. I suspect Sam will be out if his 2023 is like his 2022 has been. Jakes looking like a really solid brit prospect for Moto2, and didn't embarrass himself on a GP bike either.
Saw him a couple of years back in superstock and it was pretty clear he was exceptional. Good luck to him
Shame we never saw him and Kennedy in same season. I remember Stapleton doing a similar job when he won the supersport title, went worlds, almost never to be seen again (few wild cards here and there)
