In the interview with AS, Ezpeleta explained that Magneti Marelli had had the software for some time. The factories were asked in November last year to help develop the spec ECU software, but Honda and Yamaha refused, Ezpeleta said. Ducati agreed, and provided assistance to the Italian ECU maker. Magneti Marelli then built their software based on the input provided by Ducati, and this was the software introduced at Sepang 2. Ezpeleta was clear on why the upgrade was applied. 'The objective is that in the end, everyone will run as Open entries,' Ezpeleta told AS.

  2. Hmm tad unfair , But if Ducati win and have to drop to 9 engines will they be able to drop the ones already used or take three from the unused batch.
Probably the hardest thing will be changing maps to deal with less fuel.
Fuckin nips though ,they don't like it up em eh.

  3. To be fair the italians are not above skullduggery and underhand strategems themselves. In fact i'd go as far as to say the japanese could learn a thing or two from the italians. If it was the other way round do you honestly think Ducati would say nothing and do nothing? Ducati are being clever with a loop hole and exploiting it. Furthermore by doing so, they are more or less admitting their bike is shit, uncompetitive and that for the past few years they've been doing things wrong and that they have been in denial. They are, in effect, cheating a bit.

  4. Its getting complicated. Shouldn't the open Yams be factory 2 as well then? They're running full fat motors as well. Changing the rules at this late stage is a joke.
