  1. Bucci type ramp and ball

Want to regrease and clean up
I have never took one apart but am aware of there being ball bearings that run up ramps

Am I right in thinking I have to remove the whole basket as one unit , lay it horizontally , then dismantle?

Also what grease is recommended - assume its for the ramps and balls?

  2. I don't have a Bucci, I have the DP slippers in my bikes, so I don't know if this applies...........

I just remove the pressure plate, clutch plates and the centre spline section and leave the rest in place. If the ball bearings fall out at this point it's no big deal. I clean everything and grease up the ramps on the basket and centre spline, sit the ball bearings in the grease (basket side) and refit the clutch in the reverse order. When initially fitting the cantre spline, I check that it rotates freely and that the ball bearings are in situ before replcing the spider and fitting the centre nut.

  3. no you dont have to remove the basket however you do have to remove the big nut in the middle to take out the centre hub This is the bit that is in two parts and had said balls in between you need to undo the nut remove nut a washer and the spider spring whilst holding on to one of the posts keeping pressure against the outer hub removing them both at the same time. If you let these two parts separate then your balls will drop out.... not a problem unless you lose one, much better to separate these two parts on the floor away from the bike where you can control where they go.........
