If you are travelling on the A49 between Whitchurch and Tarporley look out for this bike and if you see it ... well as the title says! ...Nuf said! look out for the LED's above the number plate, they are very pretty when they come on.
There was also a bike mounted speed trap on the A51 at Duddon between Tarporley and Kelsall yesterday afternoon - opposite the Primary School too.....
I saw them (the LED's that is) when he asked my son to pull over, thankfully he was just lonely and wanted a chat!
DK is the area prefix for Deeside, Shrewsbury & Chester... See link : Number Plate - Two Letter Area Codes
Thanks JR - a particular suffix is used near me and I tried to find the one peculiar to above area and acted on duff information this time.
I have no problem with them waiting outside the Primary School, only an idiot speeds near a school, as a mother I can honestly say ALL schoolchildren are stupid, it does not matter how well they are trained in road usage (both of mine are) they are still too busy thinking about their day / friends / what they are doing later, to be truly safe on the road. Doesn't mean I don't let them walk and cycle to their schools alone, it just means I like the idea of road monitoring outside schools. Parents trying to rush to deliver / collect their kids are the worst drivers ever.
Absolutely Agree Katie - as a parent I hate it when people speed down our lane...... So I always respect speed limits in built up areas - do unto others as you would be done by and all that...
And a white helmet at a quess..? I use that road and surrounding roads all the time...I will now be on high alert...
No Black Helmet! All Black textiles. BTW, I do agree with Katie and 998gsb about the schools and built up areas. If they genuinely wanted to slow people down then why go un-marked!? What happens on the motorway when there is a patrol car cruising the inside lane?...all the tin boxes slow down to 50 and won’t go past! Being visible is more effective and makes you stop and think are any of his mates waiting up the road? The unmarked vehicles are purely there to take your money and give you points, not to make you safe. I don’t go out to hurt myself or other people, I go out to enjoy the bike and great roads, sure sometimes it gets spirited and I'm sure everyone on this forum is guilty of that too but the sight of a Hi Vis car or bike brings you back to your senses quicker than sneaky tactics like sending unmarked bikes to infiltrate groups of bikers!
