899 Small Paint Job For 899

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by WhichBike, Feb 24, 2015.

  1. Can anybody recommend anywhere that can do a small paint job on a Panigale 899?

By small, I mean using the standard bike, red or white, and modifying a panel or two to make the look more unique.

I fancy a red and white version with a hint of that nice Ducati green here and there.

Hold on. will get some examples...

i would look at decent decals. I prefer the DUCATI wording on the lower fairing.

Does anyone know of any bikes that the dealer has simply exchanged some panels from the white to red, or vice verca? ..... that still looks good.

Cheers, appreciate it. Its the only thing holding me back really as I dont want a bike that everyone else has, looks wise. I have always been like that.

  2. There is a guy on the 1299 forum selling vinyl superleggera kits.

  3. yep vinyl wrap would be good, i have it on my 1098s BUT unless you lacquer it edges start to peel no matter how gentle I am with the polishing cloth!!

thats vinyl wrap on mine, just to show you how the application good it can be, design is not everyones' taste imagejpg1-1.jpg imagejpg2.jpg

  4. Forget choice one. I have that on mine :)

  5. i actually like the third choice

  6. Two or three.
First one reminds me of when folks put AMG / M badges on cars that aren't.

  7. And the others don't?

  8. Tricolore paint nicest by far

  9. Where/how did you get it? Vinyls or paint?

  10. Is that a dealer with their own 'specials' or a custom version creator for Ducatis?
I would be happy to ride over there to get the work done - in principle anyway.

  11. Ah that looks good.
So i just buy the kits and pay a professional it affix them them and lacquer them in?
    (I ain't doin' it myself.. :) )

  12. Vinyl. With VentureShield on top.

Now go and do something else ;)

  13. I wouldn't lacquer over. When you come to sell it a buy may not like your idea and want to remove, which is easy with a heat gun or hair dryer

  14. ok, cool. Thanks for all of that. That sorts me out. Just need to make my move. Cheers.

  15. Best way to achieve what you want, take off all your new fairings wrap them up and put in the loft, buy the ducati performance fairing kit £500 but negotiate a good discount with your new bike, then send fairings to Rage Designs Warrington for a proper quality paint job of your own choice, you wont be disappointed.

  16. Ah, interesting and a decent option as I will then have a spare set of fairings anyway.
    Cheers.
