my best mate has the iphone, i have the samsung s2, not really much of a difference between them. only thing i dont like about the iphone is being locked into the "i" everything route and the price. go try both out in a shop, play about with them, see what one you like better
Lucas you don't need to try to be a smart arse with me......try reading the txt here...and for your benefit it's the black text on the white background at the top, its over 3G for the masses and the Beta's have been out for months..... http://www.apple.com/uk/ios/ios6/#facetime Now goodnight, I'm bored with your know it all attitude.
So hang on a minute you are talking about software that is not officially released yet. Ok, now I know the missing puzzle piece you did not mention before. Can you tell me why apple did not just release an update to facetime to allow over 3G calls? Was that because they wanted another new feature for iOS6 as they run out of idea's for add campaigns? Fine then Facebook integrated in to OS of wp7 from start so over 2y now. 6 months from that so was twitter, linked in and another US one. Also msn(live messenger), Skype and Facebook chat integrated in to messages tab. Sharing photos only with other apple users. In wp7 you can share via Facebook and skydrive from day 1 and share to any device, by adding photobucket account via that as well. Passbook cool, new maps nothing beats Nokia maps as they do geo tagging for own maps not just licence it (no matter what OS), find my iPhone that is available since wp7 day one find my phone is the name. Wipe it and lock it is there as well as leaving found message. That feature was there in windows mobile times on htc devices.... So iOS6 that is not even out yet is playing catch up to 2y old wp7 software that was by many called not complete. While wp8 is out in October hm. When you talk about software that is in beta testing and not officially out yet then say so as 95% of user base for any OS will not have it. WP8 beta features. Cross platform app installation (wp8 and win8). Then for example if you play your game on the phone you can pickup where you left off on your home pc with win8. Any tile (icon in iOS) can now be made in to live tile if you want. In short you can pin your girlfriend to start menu and all her twitter, Facebook, picture, lined in, mail and other activity will be displayed there one click away. Not just number of messages but also preview of message scrolling of all her pictures or fb messages and so on. Not constant image with number. All done via push notifications so instant. MS added VOIP to explain you can minimise Skype phone or video call and keep playing your game while talking to the other person. On top of built in memory all wp8 phones can now also have microSD slot to add more and support is up to 1TB SD cards (not out yet) like Android. IE10 - the fastest mobile browser to date, as said by many but Microsoft. MS insists it is not the fastest as they were building it to display pages exactly as they would at home PC not for speed. Ability to send push notifications of websites you are browsing to your contacts and app add on to Ie9 and Ie10 desktop version to do, receive the same.
I only want a better phone. Dont think I'll bother now. Fancy getting into an argument about somebody else's phone  I'm thinking of getting a new tele whats better plasma ,LCD or LED
When you find out let me know as I need new one as well Do they now make those as well? Wonder how their marketing will deal with that LCD/LED is owned by LG, AMOLED by Samsung while plasma is Sony me thinks. Well the new Sony (or is it Samsung) smart tv does run Android app store so it stands to reason it runs some version of Android OS.
BTW Peter by phone you like, that does what you want in least clicks (windows phone ) so that means iPhone 5 or new Windows Phone 8 based phones. Both will be out in October. Android is an option only if you buy better handsets like top of the range Samsung or htc as those have enough kick in them to work Android no matter what way. Just be prepared for adds, loads of adds in free apps.
It seems there are very differing views as to which is best! Maybe you should find some mates local to you who have the different types that you're interested in and see if they will let you have a bit of a play and then decide which you prefer! Saves anymore argument!!!
I am going to see what the best deal is and get whatever and learn to like it . But tying the Iphone to the ipad seems easiest to moi.
Oh your so gonna get flamed for that........ If your getting both the iPad will connect to the iPhone and allow you to use its data connection to use the internet on the iPad while out and about.
I have an XPERIA which is coming to the end of its contract, s'pose I'll be looking a iphones. Not sure I can be arsed though, I have a lappie I use at home, I use my phone for calls, texts and pic whoring. I feel I *should* have one though.... Am I weak...? I'm a miserable git and will no doubt be in Victor mode moaning about the ~£300 a year it will cost! Bah...!!!
Android phone or tablet will let you share its internet with anything. Just turn on WiFi router and connect to it. Plus there is the micro SD cards, hdmi out and also it will play any video format without converting it to mp4 first. I have a sg2 and also a note. I would probably get the s3 if the note 2 wasn't just around the corner. I always find the build quality too look nice on a iPhone but the tiny screen and iTunes just doesn't work for me.
No I'm saying outside of wifi, when the iPhone has a data connection (3G etc) you can simply connect the iPad to the phones data connection and use the Internet or whatever data you have on the phone, on the ipad away from any wifi connections.
Yep android shares the 3g too usually my mates connect there iPads to mine when we are travelling somewhere.
I never managed to get my tablet to connect to anything other than wifi....it was just a generic one tho, but it was running ice cream sandwich still. So when you said turn on the router you meant the Internet sharing on the android phone.....
