Had a great day at Snetterton and the weather stayed dry until the last session. I managed to improve my lap times since last time i was there back in June by 9 seconds!! 2:09 which is OK considering my clutch was slipping and I made several mistakes on my fastest lap. I'm beginning to wonder how much faster I can go? Can't wait to get back and hopefully see some more improvements. Here's some photos from the day.
Was there the day before. I always enjoy my trackdays, but nothing went well. Tyres shredded to bits (suspension I think), seemed to get loads of false neutrals ending up running off at the back straight a few times and going wide at the LH hairpin and then to top it off the clutch needed bleeding and ended up buying a 35 quid vaccum kit for a bit of bleed hose . I was hoping to go a few seconds quicker than my last time, but could only match my best time so was a bit annoyed at the end. I rented a Kawasaki at Donington a few weeks prior and was 4-5 seconds quicker on the 636 than the V2. Think to go much quicker I need the suspension sorted. Glad you had a good day though. I remember back in April when you couldn't even get the thing started
I remember that day well Jamie. F**cking bike did my head in that day! Those V2's are a bit temperamental aren't they? I'm back at Donington on 12th, new clutch allowing, to see how much better I am now then I was back in May. Hopefully see you on track soon mate so I can chase you down
Oh bloody hell!! I was gonna book that day too!! Tempted now . Got Cadwell on 21st too. If you improved 9 secs at Snetterton you'll certainly go a good amount quicker at Donington.
It's sold out probably to be expected this late in the day. I'll get an alert set up on trackday trader to see if one crops up.
Had similar issues even on the road with mine mate, bled the clutch 3 times in the 2k miles I did, along with the rear brake done by the dealer twice, the issue is spending more money on the bike if it's not working for you. I'm going to be doing a few Snettertons next year for sure, as the facilities are decent and it's actually decently priced. I looked though and there aren't any for the rest of this year with no limits.
You have to be quick to get the days you want Phil. MSV also run trackdays there and i'm sure some of the less known companies go there too. My mate has a V2 and I daren't tell him of the issues you and Jamie have had with yours! Hopefully he'll be lucky?
That's a shame. Hopefully someone will sell their spot? Get your name down on MSV's waiting list too.
God knows what caused it! Can only assume a defect. First lap out the pits at Snetterton and thought "F me, this is loud". Stopped after that, sent it into Ducati and then this was found to be the cause. On the inside of the header pipe so hard to spot without taking it all to bits. Keep in mind my bike is one of the earliest registered so likely been several redesigns of bits since.
