So what do we think of...

  1. ...the new Tiger 1050 Sport???

I know this is a MTS forum, and there will inevitably be loads of "can't be as good as the Duke 'cos I've bought one" kind of replies - but I quite like the look of it, and might be tempted to at least have a test ride.

It's gonna have to go some to be better than my Mutley, but I quite like the styling and I know that the engine is a stonking unit having owned a Speed Triple in the past.

Hope it is as good as the 675 and Street Triple as it's great to see a British manufacturer doing well. :upyeah:

  2. Yes, Triumph are creating some good bikes. The new Tiger 1050 Sport looks like a bargain at the expected list price compared to the usual 'exotica' brands. I have two friends with the current model and they are pleased with them so the latest version should be even better. At least the headlamp style is better than the wierd shaped twin lights on the Street Triple!
I expect it to be better/smoother to ride in traffic than the MTS, but that's pretty obvious with a triple versus a V twin.
I run a Triumph and a Ducati and am happy with both marques.

  3. Err..no sorry just don't like the look of it, I'm sure it will ride ok but the looks don't do it for me.

  4. looks like a kettle, the ones I have seen with people look like theyre folding in the middle...

the new KTM is a different thing..

  5. Well yes, If it's the KTM 1290 Super Duke prototype....

  6. If the Tiger 1050 Sport sells for less than £10k then i reckon they might struggle to keep up with demand. Triumph have certainly nicked essences of the MTS for it.

That 1050 engine is one of THE great road bike engines.

  7. Funny how many of the comments are about the looks.

I actually think it looks very similar to our Multistradas - in fact so similar that I was kind of wondering if changing to the 1050 might be too similar - kind of like paying out to change your bike but going in the garage and finding the same one still sat there

I guess looks is a very subjective thing.

I read somewhere that they would be selling for under £10K, and if that's true I think they'll go like hot cakes (assuming they ride as well as the spec suggests)...

  8. Just had a look on the Triumph web site and 1st impression was that somebody has put a different engine on a mutley

  9. I bet it is nice but it looks cheap to me, and there is not enough red on it, Ducati have red front/tank/middle/rear but Tiger seems to be only red front fairing and tank. 10k max or it wont sell.

  10. Not for me, ta.

  11. Nor me tbh.
