1200 DVT Soft Luggage

  1. I'm not a big fan of hard panniers and definitely not top boxes, so want to stick with my Kreiga US30 tailpack. Anyone tried fixing the Kreiga yet?

Also I've also ordered the Ducati tank bag (18L) not the urban pack one. Not really sure if it fits to the filler cap (I've ordered the remote one) or just straps. Anyone ahead of me?

  2. I ordered the larger Ducati tank bag for my new 2015 bike. I'm using it on my 2013 Multistrada as I won't get my new bike until I get back from a tour around Sardinia starting next week. I wanted to replace my existing SW-Motech Trial tank bag as it has developed a tendency to uncliped from the tank ring.

Yes it does use a Givi tanklock ring which bolts to the filler cap. I've got a keyless filler cap and the installation is identical to the standard filler cap - a very easy job. The bag does come with a "satefy strap" which is designed to go around the headstock - I cut it off.

I like the design of the tank bag. It has the carry handle at the back which I prefer to SW-Motech Trial's which is at the front. The side pockets aren't as big as the Trial bag but are a useful size. I like the external zip to the map pocket on top of the main bag. I'm not sure I'd ever use the separate map/tablet carrier. Time will tell how waterproof the bag is, as I tend not to use the rain covers on tank bags.

  3. Not sure on the tank bag but I have a fair amount of Kriega stuff. With the US packs, they do a newer style of fixing strap. You can order them separately on their website. Much better then the old style and much easier to disconnect the pack and leave the straps on the bike without them being stolen. With these new straps a US30 will go on easily.

Gutted and need to order some more as I sold my R1 a month and a half ago with the straps still on the rear seat. Doh!

  4. Useful stuff thanks. Is the tank lock adapter easy to fit and remove as you need it? I'm thinking it will look odd fitted with no tank bag attached.

  5. they have two givi tank bags on eBay right now with the ring lock.

one has a Ducati logo and it £108

    one doesn't and is £77

  6. I've always left the tanklock rings in place but it doesn't take very long to remove - easily under 5 minutes. I have smaller tank bags which I use to carry essentials (wallet, phone, visor cleaning kit etc.) when not using the larger, touring tank bag.

As I ordered the Urban Pack for the new bike, I've now got the smaller Ducati tank bag. I've use it a couple of times and it's also a good design and a reasonable size.
