It's a beautiful example with a few popular upgrades as per above history. ---------------- 'Bad Parts' Will need a new set of tyres soon due to age as opposed to wear. Advisory on last MOT for lateral play in the fully floating front discs. I have looked into this and the new owner could buy new discs or have bobbin / rivets re-done for much cheaper as the discs themselves are in other wise serviceable condition. The chain adjustment sticker on the swing arm is almost gone. I have a replacement from Ducati Glasgow but I'll leave it up to the new owner whether they want to fit it or not. PM for more information / questions / specific pictures. No test rides without proof of insurance and full purchase price left as a deposit. Serious viewers welcome. £12995 ono
Agreed, under £130 would be a bargain! Was this a typo or do you have an opinion on under 13k being too cheap (or if you were being sarcastic - too expensive). Not being funny, genuinely interested to know as its not the most common bike to try and price.
Yes, well Ive tried to take into account what I paid, appreciation and what similar bikes have been advertised at (some more expensive and imho a bit optimistic). I didnt buy the bike as an investment, theres a genuine reason why I'm selling so while I'm not looking to turn a silly profit, I do hope to sell it for a little more than I paid. If possible I'd like to to go to an enthusiast who isn't going to ruin or break up what is a relatively rare bike.
Yes, some amazing prices being asked at the moment I agree. If I was in the market I would take a look at this 95 SP: 1995 Ducati 916 SP Pack For Sale on Car And Classic UK [C715647] They were fetching £8k a couple of years ago, it's hard to say how much is hype and how much is reality - but the hype pushes the prices up for sure. Stick it on EBay at a 99p start with no reserve after highlighting it on here and it will find its current value - only way to find out for sure, but you would have to be brave I guess :Wideyed:
I don't know if I have the cajones to try your suggested eBay route! I think there are a few bikes out there (albeit very nice bikes) which are asking way too much and resultantly have been for sale for a long long time. (Theres an argument here about seller motivation v holding out for great price). There are also quite a few which are reasonably priced (the 916 you point out for example) but then you look closer at to find out they aren't exactly what they seem. That 916 is a fine bike I'm sure and to me seems priced well for a 916 but it's not an actual SP and it just makes you wonder, the SP / SPS / R are special and they are going to command a bit more, but how much more is reasonable? There are Foggy reps on auto trader for £18 and 20£k Horses for courses I suppose. I will see what happens.
Good luck with the sale, my advice would be to keep it if you don't need the money! So you paid about £8k then No harm in making money if something goes up in value
