Hi All, just joined your forum as I have been reading it for the last 2 years or so. Just sold my 2014 1200S multi (Loved it, but had a chain snap at 80 mph which wrecked several parts, and a change was kinda due anyway) and my new DVT 1200S arrives Friday from Ducati Nottingham. Anyhoo, I have a few bits for sale if anyone interested. A Puig dark small screen, the offical Ducati nav mount with new handlebar clamp, A Rizoma tail tidy with black Rizoma zero indicators, and evotech head/rad guards. Only just got on here so not sure how to do photos yet, but any more info, just ask. Thanks
Just got them all off bike, all in good condition, just needs your plate putting on, and bolting to bike
Many thanks for the welcomes, will let the forum know thoughts on the DVT in near future, jury was still out when I test rode it, great bike but maybe a bit too civil ? Lost some of its Ducati'ness maybe ? Anyhoo, when the chain snapped, it kinda totalled my arse end (In more ways than one) so thought a change is as good as a rest. Time will tell.....
Through no fault of mine or the dealer, didnt get my new bike Friday, but its coming today at midday. Had yours for weekend, thoughts so far ??
It's the dogs......I'm loving it! The missus loves the comfort, the throttle response in touring is too "Woolley" works better for me with engine set to high and I've stiffened up the front end to harder, if miles are anything to go by we covered just under 500 in 2 days! I'm sure you'll love it, let me know
Hi, Did you find out why the chain snapped? Happened to my KTM 1190 Adventure recently hence the interest.
No idea why, I gave it back to Ducati and I believe they are looking into it, wasn't too tight though, I'm quite fastidious about chain maintenance and always had the Ducati guide in place when adjusting, just an isolated incident I hope ??
Hmm.. I was with my KTM... I also checked the chain tension regularly. My KTM needed a new engine case and additional parts so I'm ultra sensitive about it now. I'll certainly be checking the new Ducati before every ride without fail. Good luck with your new bike.
