Sorry if this is a topic covered before, but I can't seem to unearth a reasonable answer to this with either the search function of the powers of google What tyre pressures Fr/Rr are people running on their 899's for the road, and what's their logic for changing from the factory default ? I'm an average weight guy at 85kgs suited up Also, seeing as this forum has a strange obsession with wheely bins and I always get crap for not having them in my pictures, here's a pic from google of someone with one tattoo'd (!!!!) just for balance
In time you will come to appreciate the odd humour that is part of being a forum member. Tyre pressures depend very much on riding style. The recommended pressure will give you the best average under normal conditions. If you ride enthusiastically all the time you might benefit from lowering the pressures a pound or two because the temperature of the tyre will be higher, hence dedicated track pressures. Also some riders like a firmer or softer feel so will decrease or increase the pressure. If you choose to run a tyre that heats up quicker again you might prefer to lower the pressure by a pound or two. Colder or hotter ambient temperatures will make a difference. Very small pressure changes can make a big difference. If you feel the set up you have is not to your liking a different tyre profile or tread pattern might make all the difference. Sadly advice is only that, it is not a hard and fast rule. When the weather gets better have a back to back play to see if you can feel a difference in a pound or two in either or both front and rear. Andy
I lowered mine from the factory recommended. Found it way too hard. Think I'm about 34/34 at the moment. Go down a bit more when it's warmer.
@RacingDuck yeah don't see why not mate, must admit I use Dunlop d211's on both my bikes and those pressures work fine for me.
The stock pressures especially in the summer are too high in my opinion. Found the bike really nervous.
