For anyone that isn't already on the mailing list, we have a new venue if you fancy coming along. Good beer, good food, more space than The Halfway House and a far more bike friendly surface to it’s large car park. Added to this they have a room which we could use if required and when visited for a recce I'm told they were enthusiastic about us meeting there, somewhat disappointed that the Dukes had been left tucked up in warm garages rather than bringing them along to show them off! The unanimous decision amongst the recce party was to change to this venue for our future meets with immediate effect. The Lime Kiln is situated on the A372 just to the south of Somerton, the full address being: The Lime Kiln Inn Knole Nr Long Sutton Langport Somerset TA10 9JH I suspect, and certainly hope, that this move will prove to be a popular choice. Head on over to The Lime Kiln for the March meeting on the 8th from 7pm-ish and see what you think.
I am thinking of travelling down to Somerset over the 6-7-8 March to visit my cousins, niece and aunt in Yeovil and Bridgwater, so I may be in the vicinity of Somerton on 8 March. I wonder if I should call in to the Lime Kiln?
Why not Pete? If weather ok I may ride to work and cons down after. Not quite an old codger but getting there
I think riders Bristol/ bridgewater may be having demo rides/ roadshow days on those dates respectively (sat:sun) if that appealed to you.
So you can have a look at all the Harley Davidsons, remember to wear your leather chaps and tassels though, otherwise nobody from Riders will even acknowledge your there.
Just a quick bump - next Tuesday the 8th will be the first meeting at The Lime Kiln Inn which is on the A372 just to the south of Somerton. The April meet is on Tuesday 12th and Stafford Evans has very kindly agreed to come along to give us a chat about Celeres Racing and their recent adventures at the Classic TT as well as plans for 2016.
Just to clarify - the meet isn't cancelled (just Pete's trip to the SW I assume). Maybe next time Pete
Are you on the mailing list @MrAliT ? PM me your email address if not, and I'll pass it on if you'd like to be added
Yeah there were a couple of people there. Phil who has an 899 (with carbon wheels) and Dave who has a Foggy rep. I got there about 7:30 and left about 8:30 as driving. I expect it will be busier in the summer as it'll be a nice ride over there
