Just a quick question before I go to the dealer The bike has definitely started to sound more tapety over the past week. Is this usual as they loosen up. I have taken a video which I could post up if I knew how Also the rear cylinder has oil misting near the gasket and some light oil spray down the head..I trust that this isnt normal Kwack
I bought my Pani S with 1500 miles on the clock and have always thought the engine has sounded tappetty compared to my 1098 but as I remember my 749 used to have a tappetty sounding engine and never had any problems. Have to say the oil misting/spraying may be a cause for concern. Any feedback from the dealer?
Bike booked in with dealer. .it definitely has a lot more engine noise on the front cylinder but not from the rear..and the exhaust sounds like its blowing somewhere as well... Pic attached
Was also going to add that the rocker cover casting has a few imperfection on it which you can see looks like.bits have chipped off
If you're referring to the marks along the edge they look like they're from the casting process. It does look like its weeping though.
Small update. ..went to start the bike and no chance...after a few tries it eventually cranked over but sounded like a concrete mixer...phoned motorapido and listened yp it over phone. ..firing on one cylinder. ... So pick up due on tuesday to work their magic 1) losing oil...pressure light on....firing only on one cylinder so wont start as plugs are fouled by oil? Front cylinder 2) rear rocker gasket leaking 3) front pads shot after 4k...front discs slightly binding Frustrated.....annoyed just a little.... Will report back once I get full diagnosis Kwack
