998 Source Info For Fi Relays

  1. After digging around for replacement relays and with no dealer nearby, I figured I would find a source for generic ones. Cross referencing the Siemens OEM numbers was not too helpful, but I found some that seem to work well. For the price, I bought several--one of each of these Amazon (chinese) versions). I'm sure you can get them in the EU as well:

The 30 Amp seemed to match the originals (please correct me if I am wrong)--you have to specify the amperage. Given the nature of this component I don't see a downside apart from failure of the relay itself. At this price you can keep a bunch of spares.

Final note, I was repeatedly finding five blade equivalents, which are much more common. It wasn't until i closely looked at the connector that I realized those will work too. The connector will accept a 5 blade relay; that fifth blade slot doesn't connect to anything. Again, sorry if this is repeat info; I didn't see anything previous.

    Thanks,

    Matt
