  1. Hi Chaps/Chappettes.

Thought I'd say a quick hello, as I will probably be asking a few questions from time to time having just added a 1996 916 Biposto to the stable .

Been riding since 83 (passed my test in 84) and have been riding non-stop ever since.

Mainly into 2-strokes now but also have a GSX-R1000 that I've had for 8 years !

  2. Hello and welcome.

    She looks nice and unmolested.

  3. Ooooo how lovely :)

Hello and welcome into the mad house

Ask away but don't rely on sensible answers all the time the locals are crazy :Clown:

  4. Yeah I think/hope she is, all bar the Termis and associated chip (got std pipes and chip with it).

It's what I call a 10 footer :tonguewink:, any closer and you can see her imperfections. Wanted one to use and enjoy rather than a museum piece I'd be scared to use.

Just need to get a belt/shim/rocker service and hopefully be good to go.

  5. I just had that done, £££.

  6. hello and welcome dude... nice bike. used to spend alot of time in sth london, mostly at the bedford pub in balham

  7. Awwwww  .

What should I expect to pay do you think ?. It's just had an oil & filter change and I'll be giving them the bike naked (but with petrol tank still fitted obviously), so literally just belt change and rocker/shim check (was done 4k ago according the the service history).

Used Pro Twins in Godstone last time I had a belts done on an ST4, so probably use them again subject to a reasonable quote (I'm happy to do the belts myself if not)

    Cheers

  8. Small world :grinning:, used to go to the Comedy Club nights there quite a few years back, haven't been for ages though.

  9. Welcome Dave:)

  10. Yea been to a few of those myself but not for a good 6 or 7 years.. I would recommend Al at ducati proteam in strood (not too far from sth london) he also does a pick and drop of service. great prices and service and a nice chap to boot.

  11. I believe should be every 6k mls so you could be ok for a bit.

    £400 for valve and belts?

Mine had oil/filter, air filter, sparkers, valves /shims, 2 x rockers replaced (I bought them off a guy on here so only fitting), belts, fuel filter, coolant change and rear brake fluid change. Came to £789. That was a 12k mls service and I wanted everything done as I had no history with the bike.

  12. Welcome Looey :)
