Sp Needs A Lower Seat!

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by HyperSP, Sep 25, 2016.

  1. Hi all

I purchased a 2013 Hypermotard SP yesterday. It came with the standard and the lower seat.

Now I am 5ft 7, and even with the 'lowered' seat on it is still very tall. Does anyone know if there are any options Rd; an EVEN lower seat height? Will I have to get one custom made with minimal sponge?

The standard seams to be quite skinny, whereas the lower seat seems to be wider, so any gain in reduced height you get, you actually lose as you effectively have to spread your legs wider.

    How frustrating !

    thanks

    Shaun

  2. I have a similar problem although I'm a whole inch taller. I ended up buying some Daytona boots that's have a built in higher sole that gives you the boost you need, I'm used to the bike now and no longer use the boots

  3. And all of a sudden you're 6ft

  4. Somehow I don't think a ttaller set of boots ill be enough. I think I might look into a custom seat place to amend my current seat. how annoying !

ps went out today and it wasn't actually too bad. Just required a little more thought when I approached junctions as to where to point the bike and which leg was going to be put down.

  5. Don't buy the race seat. I'm 6ft+ and can't flat foot my Hyper SP with it fitted. It doesn't cause me any problems as i'm a lanky git but it'd be a PITA for anyone under 6ft.

I occasionally have to do the good old Supermoto shimmy when I get to the lights as the roads round here are crap. Takes a wee while to master but it's mega useful to avoid a embarrassing fail.

To answer your question; a good auto upholsterer would likely be able to help you out with your current seat.

  6. How about a lowering kit, drop the full bike a inch.
