  1. this is a special engine built by Jeff Green of GTEC and other renowned history. I have a full picture history of the build by Jeff, this was done in 2012.

It is an F02 sand cast crank cased 104mm bore (999R/1098) with a lightened, knife edged, balanced 1098 crank, 749R titanium rods, and HC F06 pistons. The heads were modified by CJS but keeps the std valves and cams. This give a CC of 1099.

It has 155 rwhp and nearly 90ft llbs of torque. The dyno chart was done last week by Iain Rhodes and shows it is still as strong as it ever was. These dyno rear wheel power figures are very comparable with a std 1198!

I currently run it on a microtec ecu and have the map available by file.

There is no clutch with it though i might include the carbon belt guards at the right price.

Given there are standard 999 engines on eBay around 1500 quid id like offers around £2000 or your constructive thoughts.

  2. Nice. If I was running a 999 I'd have snapped it up. A very sweet spot engine with power range and delivery.... Simpleh simpleh loveleh.....

  3. a bit more info..

The build configuration is well known and its geometry falls well within the recommended numbers. At the end of the 999 racing life era, the engines had the longer rods in with the position of the wrist pins moved up to the piston crown. This achieved a longer dwell time that the piston is at tdc thus improving the burn thus improving the power.

The engine has probably done around four trackdays a year since build. It has motul 300v oil change each year, and new belts.
i have only removed it as i have other project ideas...

  4. Nice motor.
    GLWS.

    Have you been away?

  5. That would fit straight into either of my 999's and being a testastretta also my 998?

  6. Very nice engine. Not meaning to hijack your thread but did you/do you use for mapping the Microtec ECU?

  7. engine will obviously fit 748-999

yes as above microtec ecu...fantastic bit of kit!

  8. It'll go today.... don't dither prospective buyers. I'd have bought this in a heartbeat if I'd still had my 999. Nova box- sorted!

  9. the meticulous build also showing the crank modifications

As the crank cases are F0 sand cast they did not have a neutral light or starter machined in them although the casting was there for them. They were machined by jeff so it now has a neutral light and starter.

  13. Hi
So engine done about 2k mls since the build?

    Where abouts are you?

  14. Northampton way unless he’s moved

  15. Milton Keynes way

  16. Hi,

Are the cases stamped with an engine number or blank ?

    Thanks

  17. Speaking to final edition about this engine.

He has followed it around the euro tracks and has commented on how well it pulls at all speeds, especially out of the corners.

He has also ridden the bike and is impressed with the tightness of it and how free revving it is, along with the strong acceleration it has.

A bargain price for what probably is the best 999 engine available.

  19. Just thought I'd reiterate my thoughts on Andy's engine.

If I were looking at upgrading to a better engine, or even rebuilding a tired motor, this represents cracking value for money.

Sell your 999 engine for 1.5k and buy a true 170BHP at the crank for 2k. Can't go wrong on a 500 quid outlay for one hell of a special motor.
