  1. Not Mac compatible :Wideyed:

  2. OK, that's the pro's.

    Any cons?

  3. The GPS aspect is legal in the UK but not in some European countries, especially if it pinpoints specific camera locations rather than 'speed awareness zones'... I was under the impression that radar and laser detection were illegal in the UK but the sellers web page seems to suggest otherwise. Moot point as I believe that modern hand held traps only transmit when the operator pulls the trigger, by the time you get a ping it's going to be too late.

Further reading, admittedly articles that are from about ten years ago, seems to suggest that detection is OK, jamming isn't. So, if they are to believed and nothing has changed since, it appears that the device you propose is in fact entirely legal.

  4. North of Kendal you don't need one of these, just be sensible at the weekends when all of the idiots are out on the roads.

  5. I was thinking about getting a 'Snooper Laser Pod' for my snooper gps unit but the one you mentioned is the one too go for.

  7. I thought the idea was if the cameras are set at accident black spots then the detectors are warning you of the black spot and the fact they warn you of the camera is a bonus. The scameras arnt speed cameras they are safety cameras. Lol.

  8. As mentioned above I think with the hand held devices their only transmitting when their using it and there's no scatter, so if you detect it its to late.
I'm lead to believe you'd be better off with a certain electronic garage door closer if you can still get them, but make sure you have a garage door to have it fitted too :upyeah:

  9. There is an article somewhere on the tinterwebs, that has a bike journo (probably MCN) testing these devices. Basically they're all shit and don't work. GPS ones work, but in my opinion you'd feel like you have license to speed everywhere else without being worried, then end up getting caught by a mobile that's moved further up the road on this occasion. Normally you'd have spotted him, but this time you were too casual because you assumed your magic box would warn you.

  10. JH, do you know if they tested the door closer one or not.
The article that I read, admittedly some time back, a gentleman had one fitted to the front and rear of his Range Rover (hidden behind the number plates) and he was only caught because the Gendarmes couldn't get an accurate speed reading on their devices.
    p.s. He didn't have a garage.

  11. They tested the numberplate overexposure film/spray (didn't work, even slightly)

Laser/radar detectors were tested but they went off for EVERYTHING (every set of traffic lights for example). So much in the world sets it off that you have to whack the sensitivity down to minimum. Ignoring that, it didn't start flashing until long after the copper in the test, achieved lock.

They also tested a couple of laser/radar detector/jammers. Although highly illegal, they didn't work anyway. If the copper aimed at the jammer it worked. If the copper aimed anywhere else on the bike, he got him.
