On a recent ride down to Phillip Island I came across a guy with a 2012 Touring S . . he was a German or Austrian touring through Australia with his girlfriend . . We got to talking and he said that his distance counter had got to 999999 and just stopped . . . Is this normal . . . ? His bike was running well except for that little issue . . . Anyone got any ideas about this . .
I'm afraid it is normal. They stop at 99,999 km and there is no way of resetting it. I don't now if they go up to 99,999 miles or if they stop at 62,136 miles (equates to 99,999km). I'll probably find that out in a couple of years if I keep the bike. I don't know whether this applies to the new dash fitted to the DVT models.
