As a few of you seem to like quizzes here's one. A friend of mine has just been done for speeding at 51mph in a 30 zone, not a built up area on the old Nant y Caws road to Carmarthen. Give yourself a big slap on the back if you can correctly guess his fine ?
It depends upon his earning per week & is halved again I think. But inside a 30 zone depending on been near a school it could be four-digits I suppose. You're going to get no leeway in a 20/30zone. It's just not worth it unless as he was, he's prepared to risk it.
Having recently attended a, Cough, Cough, 'course' about speeding I know that any exuberance in a 30mph limit is frowned upon, regardless of it being built up or not, and 51 in a 30 is, in my humble opinion, asking for it. There is an insistence that it's 30mph for a reason, and if we agree with the limit on each individual stretch of tarmac or not there is nothing we can do about it. As mentioned his earnings will be taken into account when calculating the fine, but @£1300 wouldn't surprise me. If he's managed to get away with it, or a very small fine, good luck to him, he needs to start lecturing on how he did it. Nasher

Totally disproportionate to say, some little fucker thats knicked an r1m, panigale r or some other near 20k bike....
