Spongy Clutch Lever ...

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by Packman, Aug 20, 2018.

  1. Ok folks 2010 Hyper but i recon this covers most Ducati models ... my clutch lever is getting quite short on travel and spongy.

There is no loss of fluid or any leaks .....

  2. Needs a bleed, very likely to be the OE slave cylinder. There has been much discussion on here but the Oberon aftermarket replacement is a favourite. Andy

  3. Yep - agreed - i love spunking money on bikes so that side of me says look for an rcs 17 secondhander - itll be better again than stock....

  4. +1 A bleed has to be your 1st port of call.

I wonder why they went to a cable on my 821?

  5. How do you bleed clutch on 1200 multi ?

  6. All you need is an 11mm spanner and a few inches of 5mm clear tube...

1, Remove the rubber cover and place the clear tube over the bleed nipple.
2, Give the clutch 3-4 squeezes and hold against the bar.
3, Use the spanner to crack open the bleed nipple a tiny bit. You should hear a bit of air come out. As soon as DOT4 start to flow into the tube, close the bleed nipple.
4, Only then release the clutch lever.
5, Apply for job at Ducati WSBK or GP teams.
