Spots on my Multi

So here are my spots, 2 pictures as they are now, 3rd as they were before the recall from SW Motech as the rad can fail where they were mounted. I much prefer the lower positioning, but I have plans afoot to re-mount them, if I could only get my hands on some lower fairing panels!

I have also fitted the link wire so that on Main beam the Dip stays on, no problems so far.

The Main beam is now HIDs, with Dip on, and also two LED spots, the other two spots are on a switch on the bars, so they can be on all the time if wanted.

I would make the HIDs the first thing to do to any bike you have, I have fitted them to every bike I have had for the last 9 years, yes some other drivers take exception to them, but I will take that any day as opposed to someone pulling out on me. You can certainly be seen with the HIDs on.

    Thoughts welcome!

  2. Look great Steviegas where do they mount now and how difficult to fit?

You certainly going to blister some eyeballs with this set up ;)

  3. Hi, they are mounted on the new SW Motech brackets as per the first two photos, very easy to fit, the wiring i used micro relays and took the links of the back of the bike relays so i haven't cut into the loom at all. The brackets fit onto 3 fairing panel bolts, they send longer bolts with the bracket, so take out 3 bolts, offer up bracket, put longer bolts in, very simple. The HID ballasts are stuck on the inside of the lower side fairing, they just simply unplug from the headlamp, plug in the new loom and away you go.
They system is very bright, awesome at night!!

  4. Stevie, are you using Aztec's spacers on your screen? If so what do you think?

    Cheers

    Neil

  5. Looks cool, prefer the top. mounting to the bottom.

  6. Hi, yes they are, mmnnn, well havent really noticed much with wind deflection, but I bought his bar which goes across the back of the screen and its a great place to mount the sat nav, so its good for that. It may make a slight difference to buffeting, because behind the screen you dont get the turbulence. Jury is still out on the spacers for me!!!

  7. HID conversion and spots....you'll blaze the trail with that lot :D

Aztec's spacers...........not heard of these, website?

  8. Hi Andy,
Carn't believe i know somthin you don't, Aztec is his name on this forum n Ducati ms, he came up with 3 milled round spacers for the screen, 2 long 1 short to fit like the Palmer products solution, very nice quality but im 6'2 inside leg 32 n got no benifit from them but an awful lot have.
It looks like to me Stev is usin the palmer product screen adjuster, wit sat nav mount.

  9. Nigel, your correct, it is Palmer products with the sat nav bar.

  12. Andy, can you remember the guy who makes the link wire?

Are the details not on your page?

I cannot find any details, they died with ducatisti!!!! So much info lost, crying shame it is.

Also, for all peeps here have a look at these pages, a very learned gentleman has compiled a list of worthwhile reading and info
